The #1 Female Soca/Chutney DJ in Canada has been booming up the club scene since 2004. Doing what she does for the love of music and representing for the faces of the people. Pleasing her audiences with much charm, confidence, and selection; this lady wants to take us "BEYOND OUR ORIGINAL MIND" (BOOM) where there are no limitations in the musical realm. Miss Boomarang: a strong, independent, lioness, with a flare for music and entertainment, has her goals set out for her, "wanting to strengthen the ties between the West Indian youths today and their Caribbean heritage".

Entering the club scene in April 2004 and moving up the ladder ever since has made her gain notoriety playing all over the Caribbean market, opening up for many Soca Artists (Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, FayAnn Lyons, Shurwayne W, Destra, Patrice Roberts, and backed Skinny Fabulous on stage at Fire Fete 2k8). She's been on numerous chutney events opening up for DilENadan, JMC Treveni, D Hitman, Terry G, Rooplal G, and other Chutney superstars. 

Awards/Achievements:

  • First Female Guyanese DJ in Canada to play at the Guyana Independence Lime

  • Awarded "Best Upcoming Soca/Chutney DJ" (2004)
    The Canadian/Caribbean Culture Awards


  • Awarded "3rd Place & Only Female DJ in History" (2005) to compete in
    Calypso Hut 2's DJ competition


  • Nominated "Canada’s Female DJ of The Year" (2008) Canadian Stylus DJ Awards

  • Nominated "Best DJ Mix of the Year" (2008) International Soca Awards


Miss BOOM has co-hosted and deejayed for many radio stations/shows in Canada.
One major event that she covered was the Vancouver Olympic Torch Relay when the torch reached Toronto, she got a chance to attend a press conference with famous Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar, who was an official torch bearer, and also covered the event for CINA RADIO 1650am (Canada's 1st 24h South Asian Radio).

graduated in the Broadcasting and Film program at Centennial College (Canada) in 2006. In addition to radio, she loves being in front of a camera, hosting, and engaging audiences with entertainment chatter, celebrity interviews, etc. Currently she has dipped her hands into the video industry, with her own production company FOXY INDUSTRIES, shooting and editing material for TV shows, documentaries, music videos, etc. Samples of her work can be seen online www.GetOnFoxy.com

Miss Boom continues to strive for success and hopes to inspire other females out there and wants them to know that when you put your mind to do something, nothing can stop you. She gets inspiration from all the negative barriers that try to hold her down. Not even the "politics behind the scenes" or the "people in the industry" or even LIFE's UPS and DOWNS can hold her down!
